Your First Visit to Our Aurora Practice

You will be warmly welcomed and made to feel at home. Help is on its way!You will be welcomed by our staff, who will gather information about you, the reason for your visit, and other health related information. This takes about ten to fifteen minutes.

We will show you with a brief video that helps you understand chiropractic care, and then the doctor will perform a full medical history. We are interested in specific details about your current condition, previous health conditions, supplements and medications, and lifestyle information.

All of this helps us gain a better understanding of you and your health.

Then we ask you to change into a gown in order to perform a complete physical exam, including taking your blood pressure, posture and spinal motion analysis, orthopedic tests, neurological tests, and other tests specific to your case.

Once this is complete, we may recommend some home care before your next visit. Since a full explanation of your options is important before being adjusted, we typically do not perform spinal manipulations until the second visit. However, since you are most likely coming to us for pain relief, we may use a powerful therapy (infrared light therapy) which can dramatically reduce pain and discomfort before the next visit.

Dr Rick Asks some important questions of interest to Aurora residents - Chiropractor Aurora Dr Rick Asks...

Do chiropractors prescribe medications for the pain?
No. Chiropractic is a drug-free approach to better health. Instead, we rely on natural methods. We can show you how to use ice to control pain. When properly applied, ice can have an analgesic effect without the unwanted and sometimes dangerous effects of pain medications.
Could a chiropractor put an end to bedwetting?
If bladder control seems elusive, consider chiropractic. If spinal bones are interfering with nerves that control your child's bladder, plastic sheets, alarms and other methods simply add to the embarrassment. Aurora parents are often amazed (and relieved) that chiropractic can be so helpful. Learn more.
